Omega-3 fatty acids have a favourable and nourishing influence on the heart and blood vessels, brain, skin and eyes. They keep even the smallest blood vessels elastic and clean. They correct any imbalance of the wrong fatty acids and as a result reduce the risk of chronic inflammation, even the formation of amyloid plaques that can lead to problems such as Alzheimer’s.
Children who have difficulty concentrating in school notice they benefit greatly from using OmegaMatrix®. Nutrients found in OmegaMatrix® may slow the aging process of the brain while improving learning and the ability to concentrate. These compounds do contribute to mental health. Studies indicate that disorders such as bi-polar disease, depression as well as schizophrenia may benefit from increase in some of the components found in OmegaMatrix®. In some cases, problems with ADHD, dyslexia, and aggressive behavior can be helped with nutrients contained in OmegaMatrix®.
The array of Omega-3s and Omega-6s are important for healthy brain formation, especially for babies and children. OmegaMatrix® also works as a detoxifying agent and removes mercury, PCB’s and lead. The oil itself is extremely pure and does not contain any Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Aluminum, Mercury, Molybdenum or Chlorinated Pesticides.
For athletes OmegaMatrix® helps keep the joints flexible as it eliminates free radicals formed during intensive sports activity. In case of injury, it has an anti-inflammatory effect that helps to heal wounds or injuries quickly. Fish oil has recently been shown to help prevent osteoporosis by inhibiting the production of a type of eicosanoids (prostaglandins) that limits bone growth. However, it is important that the oil contains the unique combination of EPA and GLA!

OmegaMatrix® supports healthy blood pressure and blood circulation. It contributes to a healthy cholesterol level. It contains a natural balance of healthy fats and is rich in mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids. It even contains the natural vitamins A & E, alpha-lipoic acid, iodine and selenium that supports thyroid function and contribute to the preservation of a healthy skin, general health and vitality. Squalene protects against early ageing of the skin (due to the influence of intense sunlight, among others). In addition, the Omega-3s contribute to the preservation of supple joints, memory and concentration, and the alkylglycerols stimulate the immune system. GLA is good for the skin and can reduce menstruation complaints. The phospholipids nourish the brain.

Effects of supplementation with fish oil-derived n-3 fatty acids and gamma-linolenic acid on circulating plasma lipids and fatty acid profiles in women.
Laidlaw M, Holub BJ. Department of Human Biology and Nutritional Sciences, University of Guelph, Canada.
BACKGROUND: Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) have lipid-modifying and antiinflammatory properties. The effects of supplement mixtures of these fatty acids on plasma lipids and the fatty acid compositions of serum phospholipids have received
little attention.
OBJECTIVE: The objective was to determine the effects of different levels of GLA supplementation together with a constant intake of EPA plus DHA on the triacylglycerol-lowering effect of EPA plus DHA alone and on the fatty acid patterns (eicosanoid precursors) of serum phospholipids.
DESIGN: Thirty-one women were assigned to 1 of 4 groups, equalized on the basis of their fasting triacylglycerol concentrations. They received supplements providing 4 g EPA+DHA (4:0, EPA+DHA:GLA; control group), 4 g EPA+DHA plus 1 g GLA (4:1), 2 g GLA (4:2), or 4 g GLA (4:4) daily for 28d. Plasma lipids and fatty acids of serum phospholipids were measured on days 0 and 28.
RESULTS: Plasma triacylglycerol concentrations were significantly lower on day 28 than on day 0 in the 4:0, 4:1, and 4:2 groups. LDL cholesterol decreased significantly (by 11.3%) in the 4:2 group. Dihomogamma-linolenic acid increased significantly in serum phospholipids only in the 4:2 and 4:4 groups; however, total n-3 fatty acids increased in all 4 groups.
CONCLUSIONS: A mixture of 4 g EPA+DHA and 2 g GLA favorably altered blood lipid and fatty acid profiles in healthy women. On the basis of calculated PROCAM values, the 4:2 group was estimated to have a 43% reduction in the 10-y risk of myocardial infarction.
